If we see a patient out of network, can we actually submit the claim for them --we just don't check off the items were its states we have assignment of benefits? That way they send the check to the patient.

You can submit a claim to an insurance that you're not in network for. I've found its 50/50 on whether they notice the accept assignment yes/no feature. We usually default everything to Y and then send the patient any credit that may come as a result of it.
