In the allergy window on several of my patients, when the allergy list was carried over from version 4 to 5, "No Known Drug Allergies" was put in the allergy window by default. When I try to remove this, it will not delete. In version 5, the default no allergy statement is "No Known Allergies", which is inserted by checking a box above the list of allergies. But checking and unchecking this box will not remove "No Known Drug Allergies". In fact, I can add another allergy, such as penicillin, and then the allergy window will display "No Known Drug Allergies, penicillin". Anyone seen this?

I have never seen this - you have to highlight the no known drug allergies on the right and hit remove - then you can check the box for NKDA. This is because your "No Known Drug Allergies" is not codified. Try that and see if it works.

This has not worked for me as well, I have tried to remove "uncodified No Known Drug Allergies" for the check box, codifed one, and have not been able to remove it.

Yes, I've been gradually removing the un-codified drugs in the allergy list, and using the selection list on the left to replace them with codified drugs.
The un-codified drugs on the allergy list are easily identified, since they are in italics. The "Remove" button works for these. "No Known Drug Allergies" is in plain text, similar to the codified drugs. But the "Remove" button doesn't work.

I thought I had this problem at first, but I can't reproduce it, and I don't know for sure if I was messing up some steps.
As mentioned above the non-granular data is in italics. "No known drug allergies". When you click on the A symbol for allergies you open the box, and on the left is the search function for finding new granular data to add. On the Right you will find your problem, in italics. Highlight it and then click remove. It should disappear. Then YOU MUST confirm the list or it will appear again.

I have now found 3 other patients with the same issue.
As I mentioned, un-codified drugs on the allergy list are easily identified, since they are in italics. The "Remove" button works for these. "No Known Drug Allergies" is in plain text, similar to the codified drugs. But the "Remove" button doesn't work.
This is similar to the way that the checklist to the left of the allergy window works. If you check off penicillin as an allergy, it appears in the right side of the list. If you try to click on "penicillin" and use the "Remove" button, does not remove the word penicillin. This can only be removed by clicking off the check box on the upper left.
I've turned in the "bug" report.

It is a good workaround. But, when we add allergies, we just leave the NKDA in there. It does look rather silly, but it's too much work to go through NewCrop.
