I am writing to share my experience in hopes that it might save someone else grief and to ask for advice. I have used the newcrop/surescripts screen for prescribing since I started w/ AC two years ago. I have not imported the meds into the AC chart because it was such a pain. This system has worked well for me until last weekend when without warning my newcrop/surescripts interface was terminated without warning by AC on my renewal date 3/29 and would not renew it. This means I can't prescribe electronically but much more importantly, I have no access to my patient's med lists. Obviously this is a HUGE problem. (There are some other details relating to my trying to trial version 5 on an isolated machine which I think are not central to my problem so I will skip them for now.) So I was told I needed to move to version 5 pronto so this I did, right in the middle of the work week, but I still can't get to my patient's med lists. Tech support is working on this but not with the urgency that I would like. They never answer the phone and have let the ball drop as far as I can tell for periods of time. For example, this morning Joe isn't in until 1, doesn't answer his email so I am just left hanging seeing patients w/o med lists. So... 1)be warned they may shut off your V4 interface w/o warning 2)is there some way to get IT to be more responsive to what I consider to be a severely disruptive problem Thanks, Avery

Just as a follow up - I have a plan from IT now - I don't like it one bit but ... Apparently surescripts can't transfer my med data to version 5 directly - it has to come from version 4. They are going to roll me back to version 4 and then I need to go through all my patients and down load there meds in to the charts -I guess also their allergies, and pharmacy preference. I think this will take many hours of work and I think I will loose my discontinued meds so I am very unhappy about this solution. Then I go back to version 5 and re-sink with the version 5 stuff I have done the last several days. I don't know if I then need to codify them in version 5. Any thoughts about a better way? Thanks, Avery

I'm very confused about what the problems is. I didn't use the eprescribing feature until version 5 but when I converted from V4 to V5 all the meds were still there....in the prescription writing window.

Have you tried going into newcrops field and hit button to import prescription history - can go back like 4 months.
Go to PT DETAILS - SURESCRIPS DRUG HISTORY

The problem is that I ONLY used the surescripts/newcrop e prescribing window in V4 and V3 - I didn't import the meds to the chart from surescripts so surescipts and only surescripts has my medication history and apparently version 5 can't pull that data from surescripts as version 4 did. Seems strange but that is what I have been told.
They just rolled me back last night so I haven't had time to explore how much the import button will do. They have given me a month to get this done - I'll need to hire in some help to get this done.
