I am having problems when I take the machine off site and then work on AC while off site. Then when I return back to the office, I synch back. The messages that I deleted while off site come back to haunt me as if they were never deleted!
Any suggestions on how to properly sych so that actions taken out of the office when returned back to the office do actually remain permanent.

Maybe instead of synching you should log in remotely.

I agree. I was a big "sync" user initially (sorry, Bert). But the Amazing Sync program is, well, still a bit flakey. Sometimes it works fine, but other times fails to transfer imported items, messages, etc.

With more and more healthcare facilities and homes having WiFi, using LogMeIn is a very practical way to use AC outside the office, IMHO.

So, how does LogMeIn work and how can I learn more about it? Is it secure?

Very easy. Sign up for the free version. Download the program and install LogMeIn Free on any computer in your office that runs AC and has an internet connection. You must leave this computer, and the "main computer" that has the AC database, both turned on to run AC from outside the office. Then you simply log into logmein.com from any internet connected computer, put in your password, and connect to your office computer. Your office computer's desktop appears on your outside computer's screen, and you control it just like you were there in the office.

Even the free version has several security features including AES 256-bit encryption.

Some fine tuning to LogMeIn is discussed in these posts.

We use LogMeIn too. It works well, and the providers both have the app on their iphones.
