Forgive me if this has been addressed somewhere else on the board. I searched for the topic but I don't see a relevant answer. My program is telling me there is no new update from the current version 4.0.73. I downloaded AC to a new work station today and it was incompatible as it is a version 5. I don't see where this is being released as a current version? Is this BETA? Is it okay to download now or are there major bugs? Apparently it has been available since February but I didn't get a notice. Thank you!

Very few bugs but if simply log onto tech support on Monday and ping them they should be able to give you link to download the old version you are using. I believe they have generally released this version, but if you are not comfortable (and I would not do it on a weekend unless you are very comfortable with backup, upgrade, etc) keep your old version a bit longer.

You should try in the future to keep a copy of the version you are using as well as any database tuner saved away so that if version gone, internet down, etc you can still fix yours (Ps I have done this too...live and learn).

What is the short result area problem - have been using Version 5 since day 1 of beta - don't understand the problem. Try to explain and I will look on my computer

if you make an order and send it to yourself then open the order by double clicking in your mail box it brings up your order screen in the lower part of the order screen there is the results (comments) area- the problem is it only lets you put 75 or 100 characters then stops- so if you are trying to track what happened to say a ct of the head you ordered. now it can stay in the order area- and first the staff has to get approval from the insurance company and document in the results area and hit results pending to save it in the orders- then when results actually come back you have staff say results back- nl or something in the area and click completed and send to the provider- to save- the problem is that the area is too small for all you want to document- ie- where you sent patient, who you talked to for approval of the test- calling patient to review if they went for the test then writing results in the area.

Testing v5.0.26 on a new server, and my conversation with Support indicated that it is release, but they are setting the Update Notice in groups, so that support is not overwhelmed with everyone upgrading at once.

I'd second the suggestion to have on-site copies of the installer, tuner, and DB backups so that you have everything you need to do a re-install without an Internet connection.

In this case, we are upgrading the server, so we did the install, restored from a recent DB backup, and then ran the tuner.

No hiccups, and the practitioners will be looking at the new version this week with practice data before we actually do the production upgrade.

I didn't say I didn't have the old copy. I do always keep a copy of whichever version I run. I just wondered if 5.0 was the current version. It surprises me that they are providing it as the current in terms of their marketing purposes if there are so many problems with it. I hope they get it straightened out soon. It's three months into the new year and we have old coding data bases.

I have very few errors using 5.024 on a day to day basis - as a matter of fact I would say it has less problems than some versions of Windows Vista I had. I have been using version 5 for months - fixed a lot of little issues and new features as well as e prescribing is great.

Well, if we can get it to be as good as WIN7, we'll be all set.

I have been using version 5 for a long time - the only error I have gotten in last month or two is an occasional error that AC lists on their website is an intermittent error that they have not been able to reproduce (error 364 or something) - none have been more than a nuisance. All in all the program works good and the new features as well as e prescribing has been worth it.

Thank you for your feedback Steven. It's reassuring and I will be updating the server and all twelve (sigh) clients this weekend. I certainly look forward to Sure-scripts improvements!

Christy
