I've had the following error message on 2 scripts today on 2 different medicare patients. Anybody have any idea what that means - or suggest how I might fix said error? Thanks.
0 The element 'patient' in namespace 'http://secure.newcropaccounts.com/interfacev7' has invalid child element 'patient diagnosis' in namespace 'http://secure.newcropaccounts.com/interfacev7'. List of possible elements expected ..... (and then it lists labeled elements)

I think I'm going through similar issues today. I've found that you've got to make sure that you fill out all the required fields exactly how AC asks, otherwise you'll get 'invalid element' error messages. I'm telling our providers to double-check all entries before submitting the Rx's to the pharmacy.

Also, in reading some other eRx issues on here you may want to double check and make sure you're running the release version of V5, which I believe is 5.0.24. In addition, make sure your DEA and NPI numbers are correct for those who are to be writing Rxs. Those two solved my initial set of issues with it.

yes to v5.0.24. But I don't even know what data element I might be doing wrong. I have sent several e-prescriptions with no problem. But several more with wrong data child element. And I'm like what? PC LoadLetter?

ha, hopefully a renegade fax machine isn't the issue. Are the one's that don't go through to a specific pharmacy? Or are is transmissions success rate sporadic with all of them? I'd suggest emailing joe@amazingcharts.com, he seems to be the resident expert in troubleshooting the eRx interface.

Does your patient have a lot of diagnoses? The erx will only allow 30 active dx. Hope this helps. Claire helped me!!

yes! It is on my medicare folks with the most diagnoses. Well poop. Those medicare folks are the same ones I need to send e-Rx on to get my incentive. So I gotta find 25 not-that-sick medicare folks to e-Rx so I get my incentive. Hmmm. I got a year - right?

Albert, I have a similar pt population. The problem list allows you to inactivate diagnoses or delete duplicates. How do I apply to get the incentive?

How do I apply to get the incentive?Use this G-code when you file the Medicare claim on those 25 patients that you transmit at least one eRx.

I have talked with AC - the answer seems to be different on who you talk with. The lead programmer says that the error occurs when you have 30 active diagnoses - very seldom would you have to keep that many active diagnoses - go into their summary and deactivate some and all should be fine. I use electronic for all my patients and have for some time.

I am just starting with the Version 5 release and e-prescribing.
Have had problems with a recent prescription for a steroid cream. When I went to transmit the prescription, it failed because I had entered 30 gm in the amount field.

How should it be entered? Do you put 30 in the amount and assume they will use grams? How do you handle BCP's, do they get 3 packs or 84 pills for 3 months?

Is there a manual that covers the e-prescribing? I have looked on the SureScripts website and found the FAQ but it does not cover the nuts and bolts of writing the prescriptions correctly; only what to do for communication issues with pharmacies.
Thanks
Greg

Good question Greg.
Grams and packs seem to create an issue.

Hopefully support will respond.

You cannot enter units - 30 should be interpreted as grams and OCP should be 28, 56, 84, etc. This is not documented, but I have a very close relationship to my local pharmacies and have verified this with them.
AC is working on a better refill method and he states they are planning on entering back in units.
