Is there a way to pull superbills based on the date the note was completed not the date of visit? Although I know it is not ideal, sometimes I forward the chart to finish at a later date.

The superbill and hence the billed charges should always be for the date of service, as should the date on the encounter note. Anything else could be deemed fraudulent.

Leslie, I am sorry I wasn't clear. What I want is to be able to print superbills with the correct date of service, but just be able to find the superbill based on when the note was completed. The charges will be entered for the correct date of service, so there is no fraudulent charge. In my PM system I am able to pull visits based on date of service or based on date entered. I was wondering if this could be done with AC.

I see now. The only thing I can suggest is, go to "File", scroll down to "Print Daily Batch" and then the day you want to print. But I don't see that you can pull a superbill based on date of note completion.

I keep track of any charts I finish late and let my secretary know. She will then individually upload the individual files.

With the caveat that we are still using the pre-SQL version of AC, I pull the charts based on the "sign off date" rather than the "date of service". "Sign off date" is a hidden field in the SOAP table. Maybe with version 4/5 this is accessible via reports but I haven't been able to find out how to do this. This one of the key points preventing my upgrade so I'm very curious about this thread. We need and have asked to custom generated reports from the AC database.

I asked tech support about this , but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Does anyone else know of a way to do this?

I will get this figured out one way or another against the V5.0 SQL database and will let you know how to accomplish pulling superbills based on date note completed. I started a new thread today to see if anyone else has done custom reports by merging multiple tables. If not, I will document the procedure.

I was able to figure this out but I don't really like the method enough to publish it as a procedure I would recommend. I had to buy a password reset program for SQL server and reset a password for a particular system ID. Then I had read access to the tables of the v5.0 database and could do the custom reports. I'd prefer using another method so I'm not dependent on that system ID existing on the SQL id/password table. If anyone else has an idea, I'd really like to hear it.
Maybe one of the existing PM interfaces has an export format that pulls the date when note was last saved? Field contents resides in "SavedDate" field within EMLineitem table.
