How about an area in the vitals for LMP?
how about an area in the rx window for "samples given"

We use the Vital Signs Notes section to list the LMP. Since Dr.C spent several years doing ER and is accustomed to always having oximetry readings available, we splurged $300 and put O2SAT there also. And for diabetics, we put an in-office finger-stick glucose reading there. Its so much easier to put there (and easier to see visit-to-visit) than in tracked data.

When you say splurged, do you mean on the sat monitor? The vital sign note is also a small bug or an inconvenience. We used to put the nurse's name there, but when you print out weights and heights and HCs there along with vital signs, the nurse's name shows up and it is right next to the HC making it look terrible. We now use Shortkeys and automatically put it into the ROS which allows a time stamp as well.

We simply put the word "SAMPLES" in the quantity, although you could actually put a quantity in there and put "SAMPLES" in the Refills field. These are stored internally as strings, not as numeric, and I believe the default length is 10 characters

When I say splurged, I mean we bought a pulse oximeter. Not a Monitor. Just a finger tip pulse oximeter. They are about $300.
