For those of you that have switched to the beta v5 - Have any of your injections been imported over?? I cant find that immunizations or medication injections are anywhere to be found.
Sorry about all the posts - usu a lurker, but have lots of bugs/questions with this new version.

I have spoken with tech support about this.
Apparently when you go to add a new immunization, it will check back and pull in the old ones of that type that are in the system.
The system works well for shots going forward, but not those already done.
Apparently with PM module (who knows when) it will pull all 90700s from financial and create a complete shot record.

It seems that all old medication injections - like kenalog or testosterone are lost. I cant find them anywhere.
Thanks for the information on the immunizations, though. At least they arent lost.
Found some more glitches and workarounds. If you cant preview a prescription. Check the pt's demographics and if they had two lines of address in v4, then it was imported into v5 w/ a non-ASCI character and all on one line (for example a po box). The prescription writer cant make this character and you get an error. Just go to the demographics, fix the address back to two lines and delete the rectangluar character there. Save changes and you should be able to view/print w/out difficulty.

While it seems most changes in V5 are very nice, the vaccines and injections section is a trainwreck.
We give alot of vaccines to people we see once or twice, or every few years. Its for forgein travel. Many of our vaccinations did not Xfer over. And many that we give are not listed in the new system, and there was no way to add them to it. We just went through inputting vaccines for a new travel patient, whom we expect to see just once more (maybe) for her 2nd Hep A shot. We had to give Yellow fever, Tdap, polio, hep a, memingococcal, and oral typhoid. We had to put the Tdap and the Hep A in the "Health Maintenance" section, but could not add the other vaccines there. The others had to be input manually in the "Injections" section or "Non HM". This section doesnt have populated drop-down menus, but we should have been able to add these vaccines to the other section. Then, you cannot modify or delete an entry as the admin, so when the MA listed the incorrect location (R Deltoid, not L Deltoid) we couldnt change it. We cant delete a vaccine once input either, so its a good thing the patient didnt change their mind and not take the oral typhoid after we logged it in. I also could no longer just print a simple Vaccination Record. Now you have to print two parts -- 1 page for the Health Maintenance vaccinations, and another separate page for the Non-HM/Injection vaccinations.
Well, this is a beta version after all. I wanted to use it so that i could complain about things like this and try to get them to change it. I have sent in my "Recommended Improvement" email from within AC. I just hope they change it.

Yikes.
Think I will wait a little while before updating. Keep us up to date so the rest of us know when to jump. Thanks for your bravery.

Beta is not for everyone. Jon's beta seems to be better than most, and are almost ready for prime time, but glitches do pop up.
I played with it for a week fairly steadily to get a feel for what glitches would interfere, and how it would change work patterns in the office.
But it was eprescribing that pulled me to put it to the metal. I have found a few other bugs, but it has been surprisingly overall good.
Vaccines still need some work and it would seem some of these may not be corrected until V6 (or will it be V5.5 since a new version may require a new CCHITT certification)

Talked via e-mail with support - they are aware of the injection issue and are working to resolve. They said they are first fixing missing injections in migration and then the drop down issue.
They are also working on getting rid of injections showing up multiple times in the plan as well as HM.
I bet they will have a new release soon - and he said probably another one soon thereafter with fixes above.....I think they have been making lots of changes and it will get much better.

We have seen the issue with the vaccines, and migrating them from version 4. We are working on a new release that should correct this issue. When you update to the new release, and run the tuner it should bring back the vaccines, and allow you to migrate them again, and you should not be missing any at all. All the dates should be displayed right as well. If you have some patients who have not had the vaccines migrated yet, I would hold off till you update to the next release.

Thanks Eric - will this be the same for the non-vaccine injections as well? They currently arent showing up anywhere. (once again, sorry to be a pain - but your DID ask for feedback! )

The newest version of AC 5.0.23 seems to have improved the migration of previous immunizations. In the previous version 5 I had vaccines which did not show anything on the left and were blank - after installing the new version these were restored and able to be migrated.
I have to figure out if I had given injections to someone other than immunizations to see if that is better, but I cannot remember any I had documented that way.

Where did version 5.0.23 come from.
We restarted our system it (Version 5.0.22) and it notified us that we had the latest version.
Thanks

It came out of Friday. It is much better at importing.
I had major problems installing it, and needed to uninstall V5.022.
During this time I discovered that it had not completely removed 4.073 and I could not uninstall because there was no uninstaller.
It loaded on the main, but not on the others, I had to use a 3rd party uninstaller even on the 5.022's to get it to install.

Beta versions never check properly as the check is designed for full version - go back to the original site you got version 5 from - it only came out on Friday.

Currently in V5 you can't delete them. This is a change from all previous versions of AC. You should please send in a Recommended Improvement on this. I would really like to see them restore the ability to delete vaccinations input in error, and to simply correct those that may have a simpler mistake like "left deltoid" instead of "right deltoid."

I spoke with AC - if you go ino the summary you can edit the particulars of a vaccine by clicking on the date administered in the vaccines completed section and it will bring it up and let you edit it. They said the next version should have it so you can delete it again.

If you have not used the beta until now, you should probably play with it before you put in in your practice.
I had a hard time upgrading from 5.022 to 5.023 and I am sure there will be more. Most upgrades in a series are easy, but be prepared for any variety of issues with betas. They are usually very stable, but...

You can generally reinstall a program that has lost its uninstaller so you can get back the uninstaller.
Your Uninstaller! 2010 is the best I have found.
I am impressed by everyone who updates in Beta. When I started with the full release of V4, I stayed with that version until -- well actually I am still using it.
I will start v5 when the betas are finished. And, even then, I won't update in v5 unless it is a major improvement or has a function I really need. I generally uninstall before I install a new version with AC. Not so with other software. But, I really find it rather tedious to go through that entire process as often as Jon puts out new updates. That's not a bad thing, just what I do.

There were 2 reasons I upgraded to V5 early. One was eprescribing, which has been good and has worked well.
The second is the search function fix, which allows me to sort patients.
I did only play with it for a week, but I happened to be on vacation over Christmas and spent a fair amount of time getting familiar with it. At that point I was comfortable enough to put it in one of the offices.
I used a program called Revo, which I had used before. It is free, very small and very easy and straight forward. I can't compare it to Your Uninstaller, since I have not used that.
I won't go into great details, but on several computers, V5 did not fully remove V4. The uninstallers were removed. I know I could have probably used V4.073 installer, but with all the issues that I was having, I thought it prudent to do a more through uninstall.
I am willing to play with Beta's because I want to see and contribute to the development of AC. If I can make it more bulletproof and tailored to my needs I will run with it.
The Beta's are more stable than V1.025 and I lived with that for a while. I also have better back up.

V5.023 went pretty smooth. Only had to uninstall on my laptop which runs XP Home edition. The other XP Pros went smoothly.
I still have problems with the injections. I gave a patient Twinrix, but it displays as a Hep A and a separate Hep B. It should just be one entry----that says Twinrix. Neither Typhoid Live Oral or the Injection is in the database. We give these at least once a week so thats a problem. Same with Yellow Fever vaccine.

The reason it shows Hep A and Hep B in the summary is that that is fulfilling 2 separate required immunizations on health records - it is confusing on paper also as we give DTAP-Hep B-IPV and we record it as that on the yellow vaccine state sheet and then put date in each of the separate ones and say see combo vaccine.
I think he does that so it will print a vaccine record like the CDC bar graph one.
I sent an e-mail to AC and asked if it was possible to add these vaccines. Does anyone else have any other vaccines they want added ? I will start a thread and see what else people use.

They will add Yellow Fever and Typhoid for next release (e-mailed them). Will watch other thread for any others we have missed - I also suggested Tet Immunoglobulin.

I've noticed that a couple of old flu vaccinations are set to migrate to something called Afluria. What is Afluria? this is probably for all of my old flu vaccinations.

Before you migrate you need to choose the flu vaccine you use - afluria is one available. If you have already hit save it is too late, but on the right side choose one from drop down and then save - it will migrate them.

Our MA just input some vaccinations into the "Injections" tab instead of using the drop-down menu in the HM/Immunizations Tab. Is there any way to move the Hep A and Tdap over to the HM/Immunizations tab?
If not, thats why they need the ability to delete these sometimes.
