Greetings,
This is my first posting. I'm trying to upgrade from 4.0.62 to 4.0.73 (mainly b/c AC tells me to when I start the app). Where do I get the upgrade files? When I follow the links on the AC reminder to upgrade it takes me to the file to upgrade to 4.0 in general (AmazingChartsInstaller4.exe - 173mb).
Thanks, Dave

Welcome Dave, the installer for version 4 has been updated to 4.0.73. I believe it is the only v4 release available now, and so is labeled as only 4. Just be sure you can download the DB tuner as you might need it for this small jump. There were a couple bugs that had to be fixed.

If you go to www.amazingcharts.net/ac and enter your email and password, it will bring you to another window with a button that says "click for your updates". You then scroll down and go through steps 1 to 4. Save it to your desktop. The file name will be amazingchartsinstaller4.exe and it will be 177mb. You want to make sure all of your securities such as your firewall and user account controls are disabled. If you have any questions or would like instructions on upgrading amazing charts, feel free to email me directly at Joe@amazingcharts.com or you can visit our live chats. -Joe

I don't like how everyone says to disable the firewall. Not a good choice.

I don't like how everyone says to disable the firewall. Not a good choice. I've brought that up to tech support a couple of times. I can't believe they still insist users shut off the firewall. It's Nuts!

I don't like how everyone says to disable the firewall. Not a good choice. I did have to do this on one installation. If you install with the firewall off, you can restart it after the installation and AC will still work.

The problem is that you take great risk to your system by doing so. I had a system attacked and crashed after turning off the firewall for just five minutes. Had to spend money have viruses removed and data recovered. Firewalls are there for good reason.
I'm sure you know that, and I don't mean to sound like a jerk; I just feel strongly about this issue.

I think it largely depends on your firewall. I like the built in firewall on many routers and some third party firewalls. A firewall that made me feel safe was ZoneAlarm, but it kept almost anything from working correctly until I had configured enough rules for it to allow and disallow certain things.
