My practice consultant emailed me this question. I apologize that I am not sure it is the right question to elicit the correct response. But, there a lot of people out there who know way more about this than I.

She says, "Bert, I have been trying to find the appropriate wording to put in our HIPAA compliance format for offices with an EMR. Do you know what the wording would be?"

Does anyone know what she is referring to and where I would find it?

Thanks

I don't understand what they are looking for either - is this all they said?

Yeah, I think she just wonders how HIPAA pertains to EMRs. So, when we add to our HIPAA policy book, we can write something that may make sense.

I don't think it makes any difference about how your records are stored - paper or electronic and adding something just "mucks up the water".....
