Anyone have any tips/tricks to simplify scanning signatures into AC so our docs can have them on Rx forms?
I wrote my signature on a blank sheet of paper, scanned it as .bmp (also .gif and .jpg) and had to keep changing resigning smaller, rescanning, cutting and pasting, rescan, sign smaller, etc. Took me about 10 minutes of trial and error.
Is there an easier way to do this????

I wrote it one time on a piece of paper - scanned in. Then opened it in Microsoft Paint - went in and made box around it to cut out and saved to desktop. Imported in AC - was too big went back into paint and made box around sig - used stretch and skew to change proportion by percentage. Resaved and imported - took about 3 attempts to get one to fit. Then in AC just used administrator options to import under USER.

Only works on letters and some prescription formats. I use 8.5x11 standard format and works fine.

I wrote my signature with a Sharpie on a blank piece of white paper and scanned it in. JPEG or BMP. Don't think it matters. I consciously made my signature a little less tall than I normally would because of the size parameter. I believe the box in AC needs the picture to be 250pixels by 35pixels at the maximum. So I scanned in the pic and resized it to 250x35 pixels. Works wonderfully. Granted, I have a Mac and was able to easily resize the pic with PictureViewer on the mac.
Paint is difficult to resize a picture to a pixel width but not impossible. Open your .bmp/.jpeg with paint. Now click on "Image" then "Attributes". This will tell you the size of the picture. Using a little math (I know, brutal), you can figure out what percentage you need to resize the image to have it fit under the 250x35 pixel range. Go under "Image" then "Resize" and resize the picture with the vertical and horizontal to get to that magic 250x35.
A helpful trick in paint is to open your scanned image, then take the dotted box and put a rectangle around your signature, click "Image" and then "Crop". Now check the attributes and resize the signature to get that into that 250x35 box.
My signature is actually 140x35 and it works very well. Hope that wasn't too confusing.

Jennifer,
If you are using Paperport, as I thought you were, you can sign the documents from there. There is a rubber stamp icon in the tools...use it to stamp your signature prior to importation. In my office, nothing gets imported without my signature.

My office staff thought they would be helping me while I was out after my surgery last month and did the scanning/importing without the signature.... cuz the office manager thought it was a good idea.

Well, there is a way but it violates everything about maintaining unaltered records. Print the documents from AC to your Paperport Black and White "printer". Stamp your name and then import back into AC. You can then delete the unsigned document from AC. You did not hear this from me

I have been able to scan the Signature to the Box in the Admin. Section. It is however not showing up on the Scrips when I sign them. Have tried to restart AC but this did not solve the problem. Any suggestion?
