I was wondering if others have a problem with the absence of a character field for the patient's middle initial? I have several patients with the same first and last name and have on occasion gotten them confused. I am currently adding the middle initial to the first name field after the first name with a space between. Hopefully I can easily go back and correct these if the feature is offerred in the future.
Likewise, all of us have many patients with the same first name. Currently these patient names are listed in the inbox; First name Last name. For me this current name order makes the INBOX more difficult to find the correct Mary or John. An example of this, when i use the alphabetical function in my inbox (ie click of the Name column header) currently this function reorders the patients like so; (Al, John, John, Mary, Mary, William) instead of a preferable ( (Brown, Davis, Lewis, Smith, Summers, Walton). Perhaps adding a middle initial field after the first name to the inbox would be helpful just encase we see two John Smiths on the same day.
If others have this concern, or if these suggestions make sense , or not please put your two cents in.....

We dont have this problem yet, but I do recognize it as a problem. All you need is to get the first patient with a name like Paul Smith, and you start thinking "uh oh." We dont have anyone with a name that common, but we have a couple that "made our raise our eyebrows." Let's ask Jon to add this. Perhaps the entire middle name rather that just the initial.
