Hi Joseph,
How have you been. I wish you would get on here more often.
Anyway, thanks for the article. I bet Brian would love to comment on it. He would probably say that it's probably great for PQRI, but you could only do it on six patients a day. He despised using NexGen.

Joseph, here's an interim workaround. The state of Oregon has a free registry that you might consider using in the meantime, http://www.cdems.com/I would love to have an adequate registry. The tracked data section in inadequate for my practice. When we are talking AC v Nextgen, we're talking apples and oranges. Nextgen should be fully certified in every aspect for the prices they charge. PS Joseph, I hope you Roy and Steven will do more posting because I don't like having my name on the "Top Posters", LOL

I think Jon is wanting to work on a variety of interfaces like CDEMS and state vaccine registries after he gets Version 5 done. I have met with him and he said that he wants to interface everything he can (he certainly has high expectations).

Nice to hear that good things are in the works. Also nice to have some workarounds until we get there. Thanks for the scoop Steven.

We're running into this registry problem with regards to the H1N1 vaccination requirements here in Oregon. Our clinic has been "selected" as one of the clinics who gets the special gold star extra duties to give out the vaccination. We're trying to find a way to automate alot of it and get the information directly out of AC. As I understand it, some of this may be possible in the next version. Anyone else have ideas about pulling the demographics and the injections out with ease?

Depends on what type of demographics you are trying to pull out. Can you be more specific? Thanks.

We need (if I understand my nurse correctly) the demographics, and the injection section for each patient that we give the h1n1 to. I'm not sure how to export that information solely.

One workaround - You do not need to generate an office note to give H1N1, since you will not be paid to give shot with office visit same day. I would simply pull up main pt. list - highlight the pt., right click and do ORDER, enter the H1N1 data in the order with the ordering provider and print/save - will save to chart, will have pt. demographics on it and then you can enter it in the vaccine summary page as a shot or whatever.
In my state I have to do whatever I want in the EMR and then manually enter it into our online vaccine registry (please don't start thread on evils of registries and big brother).

My fault--
We already have this Amazing feature in Amazing Charts in the summary section: Tracked Data. May be Jon can put the catch word: "Registry" next to that heading. We just started using it, it is wonderful and perfectly adequate to hand out to patients. The Tracked Data is prepped the previous day by the clerical staff and when pt comes we update the goals (we have goals on this one just like other registries available elsewhere).
With this, there is no need to double entry pts info / or our office info on the letter head, it will print all those.
Brilliant on Jon's part.

Brilliant on Jon's part. Has the tracked data section changed? The last time we used it, it wa a list that only allowed maybe 10 items that could not be arranged/grouped. With q 3month a1cs and more frequent lipids, the 10 items filled quickly-. Would love to know it is more usable these days.

We found in V4.073 that there are no limits. You can track all the requirements per your state. (I would think it would be similar for all states). For now we are using it for DM tracking. Here in MI we use the following tracked items per list below: http://www.mqic.org/pdf/dia_chkl.pdfOther ones: http://www.mqic.org/phys.htm
