I have a problem with three Dell Latitude D620 laptops. Each one has AC version 4, Win XP PRO SP3 and is connected to a network with cables. These laptops cannot receive messages on AC from desktop PCs. They can send messages to desktop PCs. They can receive messages from the other Dell D620 laptops. I have tried reinstalling AC several times but the result is the same. All of the desktop PCs can send and receive messages in AC without problems. Any suggestions.

Do you mean the email within AC ? The email sends to the user as logged in - make sure you are logged on as the user you want to send mail and then hit the check e-mail button (to refresh) and see if this still does not work. Can you view any email under the messages button while logged on as that user on one of the laptops ?

Yes, I mean email within AC. It doesn't matter what user name is used in AC on the laptops. No email is received. Email within AC can be SENT from the laptops but not received. If the intended user logs in on one of our desktop pc then all of the messages will be waiting in their INBOX in Amazing Charts. The problem is limited to the three Dell Latitude laptops. We have 15 desktop PC connected to AC that function normally.

I have version 4.0.62 but have never seen this - the only thing I can even think of is to check in the upper left of the e-mail window and make sure it is set to view inbox. Otherwise I can find no preferences or other settings to explain this - probably should check with Tech Support so they can log onto your laptop and look....everything else works fine on these laptops??

Everything else works fine. The email window is set to INBOX. If you send a note from the laptop it will show up in the OUTBOX. An email sent from one laptop to another laptop will show up in the INBOX. It's just AC emails from a desktop to the laptop that will not show up. Weird, huh?

I have been having problems with lost AC messages within the office. Reading the above I realize that the lost messages have been sent from my lap top to another laptop and to a desktop. I don't think there has been a problem in the other direction. The lost messages do not seem to be consistant, it will happen for a day or two and then seems like it disappears. I have noticed the same sort of " now you see it, now you don't" about the double entry into the plan box from the order button ( and occasionally from the medication button). The gaurdian angels have been made aware of my lost message problem, but I am not hearing back from them. This is "not happy" because we don't trust the messaging within AC and have set up inefficient/duplicative double checking to make sure nothing is lost. We quit importing labs electronically because messages sent to staff attatched to the imported labs were being lost routinely. Some of the messages were being sent to the recipients deleted box...it took us a long time to stumble onto that one.

Are these problems over a domain or a workgroup? In our office the people on a workgroup seem to have problems staying connected and yet Amazing Charts still works, although it seems to be working on a cached version of the files. For me, some problems were solved by deselecting the "Simple File Sharing" box on the View tab of Folder Options (Open My Computer ->Tools ->Folder Options ->View(tab)->go to the bottom of the list). Worth a shot anyway.

Support at AC solved my problem today. For some strange reason the time was incorrect on all three of my Dell Laptops and this was causing the messaging malfunction. When I corrected the time the problem resolved. According to support at AC this is a common problem.
