I am a relative new user to AC starting in January. I am interested in the process of upgrading to version 4.
Since my office has had some glitches with getting all of the network, laptops, desktops coordinated and functioning, there is a bit of backlog in documentation still to be done in the AC program.... i.e entering lost data when the server crashed. There fortuantely have been no other crashes.
When one updates from version 3.7.15 my version to version 4 all of the data will be transitioned, correct? Do I need to do OSBU prior to version 4 upgrade.\
Please advise.... Iknow that there will be another upgrade coming soon and Idon't want to get tooo far behind.
How has version 4 improved process from version 3.7 for those of you who have upgraded?
Last, how much time should I alot for the version 4 upgrade?
Thanks
Jennifer

In reverse order:
A lot appears to depend on what OS you are using to upgrade. Apparently the server OS's have been a bit more tricky to upgrade. The upgrade could take an hour, but I would give it a day in case there are problems (Sunday is a good day for an upgrade.) Since you started in January, your databases shouldn't be that large, it will use your same import items folder.
V4 is similar to V3.7 but faster. Don't know when V5 will come
Yes all of the data will be transitioned. Might not be a bad idea to do an OSBU, but AC does a backup as well before modifying the databases.
I would make sure all of your issues are solved before upgrading, so you are not blaming AC4 for network or other issues.
