I am considering incorporating Dr. First eprescribing progam with AC. Does anyone have experience with this program? Comments either pro or con will be helpful
I am not enthralled with the Ecrops program. I live in Ohio and in order for me to benefit from any of the "bonus" money for escribing, I have to use a program that the Ohio Pharmacy Board has approved.... ecrops isn't in the list.
Anxiously awaiting comments.
Thanks in advance
Jennifer

As I posted in another thread:
I have been using Rcopia for a few months, even though I paid for a NewCrop subscription. I still put new scripts in AC under the plan section, and maintain an single string list in AC medlist (e.g. lisinopril 40mg qD, all on the first line). It's in fact faster to use Rcopia despite lack of integration because both AC and Rcopia are running at the same time, so I don't have to go in and out of screens in AC. Also, multiple refills can be all done on on screen, instead of the in and out of each patient using NewCrop.

Rcopia says you have to batch meds daily for incorporation? What does that mean and any downside of this?

You must be talking about an interface so that AC medlist can be updated. I do not do any such thing, as I use AC and Rcopia separately with duplicate entry. I did upload 320K patient demographics to DrFirst so most of our patients are already there. We still have to put in allergies and preferred pharmacy at first encounter though.

It's still easier than going in and out of each patient in the current incarnation of NewCrop, especially for refills. We have a corporate deal where I give the docs Rcopia for free, as long as they are on our medical staff. Our cost is a straight $450 per provider license per year. One (rich) group has gone to the trouble of fully interfacing Rcopia to their scheduling/billing software, at $2500 for the practice.

Jennifer Ney,
I hope everything is going good with our system as it has been a couple of months since you started with DrFirst.
Jack,
I am glad to see that your hospital is working well with DrFirst Rcopia, we enjoy seeing the high complements in regards to our AC Interface!
