Ok, so our billing staff tells me they need Amazing Charts to use "Place of Service" code 32 instead of 31 in AC, however I cannot figure out any way to edit this. They would also like AC to populate box 32a on the HCFA/CMS1500 form with the nursing home's information. One of our docs travels to the nursing home to see patients. Is there any way to accomplish this?

When you sign off a note and get to the coding screen, you can change the place of service code. I think it defaults to the office setting.

Right, but what I has hoping for was a setting to change the location code to 32 from 31, which is the code for the Nursing Home drop-down selection gives. It would be very time consuming to change that box manually on every HCFA form before printing, since as far as I can tell that is the only way to get it to put 32 there.

You can simply type 32 in the POS drop down box. I double checked and it does show up on the HCFA form in the proper location

I tried that and it worked. Thank you. I guess what I was hoping for would go into the Wish section, as I wish that there was a way to add facilities to the POS drop-down box and have the info fill in correctly on the HCFA/CMS1500 form.

Oh, I agree, it would be nice to make it a bit more automatic, but this will be easier than you were contemplating.

You might send a wish/bug report to AC. Who knows, it may be a simple change in coding. Then again,....
