I would like to know which EKGs work better with AC to transfer it electronically and if I need an interface.

I've been keeping an eye on this eBay computer-based EKG, 1/3 the cost of Midmark... it's a "Buy it Now" for less than $800 (including shipping):

AC interface? Don't know...

I think you need to decide how useful the electronic interface is - I personally use any ekg available and then just scan it in. Midmark sounds good, but is very expensive. The one Al talks about is good (I have one to play with), but software is a little finicky and the original wire it comes with is flimsy. I currently just use an older Burdick that a retired doctor gave me. Whenever I do an EKG I have a template under addendum where I do a "separately identifiable" report (I am fairly finicky about documentation so I feel like I overdo it for reports in event of audit). We then scan it in.

We have been happy with the midmark. The interface works fine overall. I have not updated to AC 4.0 yet, but the old version would not let you edit the computer interpretation of the EKG which was my only complaint. I think that may be fixed now, but not sure.

I have a friend who uses a PC based EKG (less than $2,000, I do not know the brand). He just save the study as a PDF file and incorporates the file to the patient's chart; seems very easy and less expensive than the Midmark with the interface option. But I am curious about for example the GE Marquette MAC 1200-Plus, which seems to be a very modern and reliable machine and has an Ethernet port. I wonder how does this will work and if I need an interface. Does anybody has an idea?
