While I am on this kick tonight I would like to bounce this idea around also. For ICD-9 codes I use a Word Document that has a list to help me find numbers, It works OK, and I have a bunch memorized (as you all do) 250.00 etc. But there is a pesky list of 10 or fifteen that come up so often that I just wish I could have my own list on a little button/drop down right on the patients chart. Benign HTN, Mixed Hyperlipidemia, Obesity, would all be a click away for EVERY patient, and once I open the list and get the first three digits I am able to get the correct fourth and fifth digits easily enough. Sometimes I just get stuck on the same damn ones, (today it was "Fibromyalgia"). Would this be useful, or should I do a better job of editing my Word document?

Martin,

I think it would be helpful. I do IM and pulmonary.... some of the procedure codes that are routinely done in my office could be set up in that fashion.... there aren't enough slots in the "quick" section of AC.

Thanks for your thoughts.
