Dang, I successfully installed V4, was using on main computer...no problem. Then I shut computer down and all heck broke loose. The dreaded "System 32 file corruption or missing" error. I am running the recovery console right now, but thought I would check with user board to see if anyone else had problem?

Thanks

I got through the system 32 file corruption (used xp cd and then did system backup) and decided to go back to 3.7. Before I deleted V4 I copied and saved the postmigration data and the sql data on an external device. I then deleted V.4 and reinstalled 3.7. Now I have a unregistered 3.7 that cannot connect to the data. I see the postmigration data and i changed them to the mdb files like recommended....redirected 3.7 but still wont open.

Any help is appreciated.....I have a full schedule monday and scaled down staff, with a new midlevel coming tuesday and to boot I am leaving on vacation for a week on friday.

Thanks

You need to find your back up v3.7 files. You are getting unregistered because it is not your original backup. It may have a name of "premigratebilling.mdb" or postmigrationbilling.mdb, or possible wiseBUbilling.mdb. I noticed both pre and post migration files in my AC folder, but this was from an early version of V4 and things may have been cleaned up since then.

You will need to change the names back to the original names; billing, codes, amazingcharts, import, schedule, meds.

If this doesn't work, then you will need to call AC help immediately.

I am not sure why your original instillation had problems, you may want to check with AC help. Since time is critical, I would recommend just getting 3.7 operational and re-upgrading to v4 once you get back.

Oh, yeah. Make sure you have your import items folder too.

I might try this on a non-critical computer and when it works, Do it on a the main enchilada.

Hope this helps.

I figured it out with an AC angle (claire) who called on sunday. Your assessment was correct it had to do with the data files. I had duplicated copies of the mdb files (some orginal and some new form loading 3.7 v back) and when I removed the postmigration on the files I ended with mdb, which named it amazingcharts.mdb.mdb. Once that was cleared up 3.7 worked again.

Now the question is do I try before I leave or do I wait until I get back........The mess that i come back to after a week off,,,,, If i can get AC guide I will if not I will wait until I am comfortablly back.

Thanks

The system 32 failure, i almost think it was related to the migration of sql....I am wondering if something happened and it was still running when the computer was rebooted???????

I cant be sure it wasnt now that i recall.

I would probably not upgrade until you get back. Even if all goes goes well you don't want a problem when you are out of town.
I might do a "practice" upgrade prior to going live to see if it goes well.
