I've read that Appointment Quest schedules can be loaded into AC in the morning with a .csv file. Does this work well? Can one open the patient's chart from AC with the imported appointments--does AC recognize the patient or is it just some text in the schedule? I imagine there are problems if the patient types his/her name differently or in any way deviates from the AC record. In addition, I guess one one has to close Appointment Quest during office hours so no one can put themselves in unaware during office hours. How is it working for those who are doing it?

It would be fabulous if AC could provide a for-pay online appointment service that is fully integrated with AC--one which updates both the online and AC schedule with any change that is made.

It could save us docs a lot of time and money (on secretarial help). How about it?

Even better, AC could come with a built in online scheduling module where patients would actually access a version of the AC schedule on the office server. Then both patients and staff would be working with the same database. The patient would become a highly limited user. This should be fairly easy to do.

And one more wish--AC would contain or sell an add-on to do voice activated appointments for those without computer access. It's already being done:

Quest labs: Call 1-888-277-8772 to access the voice activated appointment scheduler.

If these solutions were implemented, docs could potentially save the cost of an entire employee.
