We are presently a satisified customer of AC with 4 medical providers using it. We are part of a clinic with 15 total medical providers. Is AC capable of being used by 15 providers with one server? Is the latest version of AC compatible with a server/client relationship without loss of speed? How many records can AC handle? Presently we have about 15,000 charts in our database. Is there a limit?

One server should be able to handle many users.

AC is not only compatible with server/client but should be as fast, if not faster that way.

With Access, there was always a limit and, frankly, 15 users would have taxed it a bit, but my understanding with SQL is the sky is the limit.

The one problem however, might be with the numbers of users that can be handled by the scheduler. I believe only 5 will show up on the schedule's screen.

grinThanks for your rapid response. Our next decision-making point is what kind of server to purchase. Any recommendations on processor, memory, size of drive, mirroring, operating system, and backup. I know thats a mouthful, but any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. Can anyone confirm that there is a limitation with the scheduler?

Interesting. When I talked with support about trying to get a provider off and replace it with another I was told only 5 would fit on the screen.

Beau,

Try this. Go to the scheduling section in the Administrator. Select the provider you want to remove. Transfer their appointments to another provider. Then go back and for each day of the week, in their appointment slot setup, check "Off". That is, instead of them showing 8-4 on Monday through Friday, show them as off every day.

HAHAHA!!! You should have been around here last year after I moved my practice down the street. I changed one line of my address and it took me 3 months to get paid again by Medicare. And, after almost 2 years, I may now have figured out how to get Railroad Medicare to pay.
Glad my suggestion worked for you but I must give the credit to Jody at AC support. She told me how to do it when I had the same nagging problem.
