What do the board members do for recording immunizations?

Texas requires a record of the name of the person administering the Vaccine and the publication date for the VIS given to the parents.

AC does not seem to have a field for entering these things. What do you all do for vaccines if you don't enter them into AC? I understand both of these items are federally mandated, am I missing something?

It seems like I could have the MA's enter it into an imported file, but that would completely mess things up when AC goes 4.0 (soon?) As soon as things get working here with vaccines and scanning important items I think we'll be set.

PS Does anyone have the 4.0 alpha/beta? Is this dealt with in 4.0?

This exact issue was discussed at the user conference in Branson, MO but I am not sure the resolution. It is on "the list" of features to incorporate into AC

Heh, too bad I didn't go to Branson then.

Thanks, that is good to hear. I believe we have worked it out such that we will enter the vaccine name, VIS, and the name of the administrator on the same line. This actually helps because the print function will give more complete information.

The only drawback is an increase in tedium and some slight difficulty when things are fixed and the export to Immtrac, the Texas immunization registry, is created.

Jon is working on the immunization section. In Branson, we pointed out to him what required fields needed to be on the form, that they should be auto fill, and to set up the program to print a shot record, either as part of the patient summary or separate.

We probably spent too much time on discussing how to put in the name of the person giving the vaccine. It will probably default to the person logged in, but should have the ability to change.

He was hoping to have it completed soon, but the last time I heard from him, there were some coding challenges.

I got the impression it was high on his priority list, since it appeared almost finished (didn't have the administrator box on the section) from what he showed in Branson. The shot record section was only set up as part of the patient summary section prior to that.

The patient's expectation is that you have all the answers, sometimes they just don't like the answer you have for them
