Too late, I already purchased it. I got an extended warranty for a total of 3 years that gives instant store credit. We have a dedicated laser printer so waiting for print jobs will not be an issue since they will do the bulk of the printing jobs. I can get my feet wet on this machine and then I can dive in on a more robust unit if this one fails. Since I just got the Brother MFC 7820N up and running this weekend, I can't answer your question on how it handles multiple tasks, but I should be able to answer that soon. It has a buffer, perhaps that is used for one task while the other is being handled? It is very quit though and very fast. I printed the software user guide (150 pages) in nothing flat. Thanks for you input, I hope I have not worn you out on this issue, I have worn everyone else out on it in my office and at home. Ron
