"The essence of the successful gambler is knowing when to quit". That is really tough. As I approached 80 years of age, I still felt that I was providing a valuable and unique service (although gradually limiting in scope), but having some mild word finding issues. Also, it just wasn't as much fun as it had been. So now, I retired, and am trying to figure out exactly who I am if I am no longer a doctor. It is a big drop from the top of the socioeconomic pyramid to the bottom.
