Actually if you think about it, it's a more efficient way to restore. Since you can restore the database within minutes and copy the II over manually. Imagine how long it would take to restore a 100GB file. To decompress and extract a backup of that size would take hours and cost the practice money. But if you can at least get them the charts they need, they can start working and access the II as they are copying.
