Borg collective is the RI CMS multipayer ( all state insurances) demonstration project , which finally accepted our micropractice collective in the 3rd year of our application (supplication) to their group.
They pay between $5.50 per member per month - to $7.50 depending on your quality milestones
Which include pulling patient lists for CAHPS surveys, and proclaiming loudly about what great quality is provided by the members of the collective, and getting NCQA PCMH certification (already done - thank god I will never revisit that ordeal)and a number of other hoops to jump through.
They were formerly known as CSI-RI (which aptly could have stood for Crime Scene Investigation, which seems correct, considering where and how money is flowing in the collective) but now are called CTC-RI ( care transformation collective )
They are a team based care model which is antithetical to the micropractice model so there is an interesting mingling of ideas going on - hopefully productive for all.
I am slightly optimistic that resistance is not futile and would like to see change in how practice quality is measured and am pushing for that.
We will see!
But if I start talking in a monotone, walking like a zombie and acting like a cog - well you know - they got me :-)
