does anyone know what is the correct format for using the search tool

for example, if I want to find all persons of age <25 and > 18 how do I formate those numbers in the search box criteria?
I can do them separately but would like to be able to use that damn

also if I want to find all (PERSONS< VISIT< THINGS ) of a category, can I enter a wild card so all come up ?

I tried the % but no luck


is there a place where I can find instructions for this?
