You don't need to cut and paste.
By default, in v12 Dragon opens the Dictation Box if it doesn't recognize the window (unless the window is Amazing Charts, Amazing Charts User Board or Updox, in which case it simply shuts down, because it won't work with a "medical" program.)
I do most of my dictation from home (can't stand to hang around the office after hours) into Remote Desktop window, which is unrecognized, therefore opens the Dictation Box. When finished with the dictation, just transfer ("click transfer") it to the RDP window.
Works for me.
