Adam, of course you are correct.
But, I really do not feel that even vaguely extreme measures are required. (Take note, Jimmie... here comes the lunatic fringe...) At the cost of sounding like a broken record, all anyone has to do, organized or not, is just stop signing those golden contracts. Just stop. As Ann Landers said, "No one can take advantage of you without your permission." Everyone who reads my rants immediately says "Well, easy for you to say, but we "HAVE TO.....". Well, no, you don't have to. You choose to. My charges for an average patient for a year are dwarfed by the average cable television budget, let alone cigarettes or alcohol. I have no qualms about asking to be paid for my work.
If doctors stop signing up to be victims, this all goes away.
