Yeah, we use "dummy patient" for everything like this. And I have an appt type called meeting. Works well. I only use block when I'm not going to be around as it is not possible to just reschedule the time if the meeting gets moved.
You can remove a block without going to admin. Just reverse of what you did to block. Highlight the small boxes to the left of the time slot (hold shift and click the first and last one and it will highlight them all) and hit "Delete". Away it goes.
