---------- A death certificate-------------- Decedent's name: Inoffice labs
Age: About 60 yrs.
Date of death: when phase 2 of MU becomes effective.
Reason: LOINC codes.
Coexisting conditions: Interfaces not possible to set up with inoffice lab machines and EMRs.
Next of kin/beneficiaries: Big labs who have resouces to develop interface between EMR and lab software to send LOINC codes.
This death certificate could be null and void if federal government pushes LOINC codes implementation by more than 1 year (Just heard that phase 2 implementation of MU was delayed by 1 yr).
This certificate could also be considered premature if inoffice lab machines somehow develop LOINC codes with some generic and one universal interface (defined as an interface which connects any 2 different applications).
Even this certificate is not guaranteed just like anything else cannot be in this EMR business. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Feel free to elaborate this certificate.
