I was just about to buy a computer for the kids, which I guess I could do thru their consumer side still, although even that I was going to buy business like because I always loved their business service, it was really good. With all our Gateways here we have had one hardware failure in all that time. Last year the harddrive in my laptop failed after 3 years of daily 8-15 hour a day use. And a good tech set me up to run the right test almost immediately so as to not waste my time trying to fix the wrong thing.
And we are going to need to purchase a new tower and perhaps another laptop at some point soon. But just weeks ago you could buy business side and get options like Windows XP Pro on just about anything. Now there is no XP Pro Tablet option on their convertables...
Let's both write them pissed off business customer letters. And if I'm not mistaken Brian is using a few of their convertable laptops too.
10-15 years ago when Micron had one of the best names and reputations, I probably would have jumped at the chance to buy their stuff, but just who is this supposedly new, out growth of Micron today? And where are my machines being made? I know most of the laptops are made in Asia (bullchitt) but like I said the desktops were made here on this side of the ocean and so was all of their support for all products. Just as it should be. Trust me I was just on the phone last week with the other side of the world for HP support and the communication just was not happening. Finally it was Bert and Vinny who helped get me straight, not HP (thanks guys!). This really stinks. Have a good weekend...
