David, you are correct in saying that someone else having issues or not having issues on a certain OS is helpful. But, you can play with a home version at HOME all you want, and it is not going to translate to how it works in the office. WIN7 Pro would, XP Pro would, even Vista Business would.

One thing about troubleshooting is to make things as simple as possible and when you have more than one (obvious) weaknesses, that makes it tougher.

Many times I am opinionated, and whether you are using peer to peer or client/server, home OS were not meant for networking. Now it may not be that, but opening and closing windows in a program that is not made to network can be problematic. Personally, I would throw money at it and enough to get off Vista.
