It most likely depends on your 32-bit OS. Personally, I wouldn't go by those who have success on here, but on those who do not.
When your database crashes due to 5.1, the fact that five people post that "woo hoo it worked just dandy for me," is not going to help much.
When the big boys like Adobe, Microsoft, Apple put out a late beta or a new release, you can count on the fact that it has been tested and retested and re-retested, and it is going to install and run smoothly.
When talking about new software and your practice data, you should think about two things:
1. It is a beta. A beta is a beta. It one iteration away from an alpha.
2. You can either learn from other's mistakes or others can learn from you.
Get a virtual machine or a sandbox (preferably at work) and play with it. With everything we have on the line, I have never understood not having a VM. Put the same OS on it that you use for the database and use it between patients and after patients. Sure, there is always the chance that when you do the real install, there will be problems, but hopefully, it will be with the real release.
