Bert, thanks, sorry I didn't reply until now, it got very busy at the office yesterday afternoon, and tech support was able to help me. What he figured out is that when we had the storm, the power surge apparently caused the main computer (with the database) to somehow reset the IP address that the laptop was trying to find, so using the DOS prompt, he was able to fix that and I'm now back to normal.
