I think I ran into the same issue couple of months ago.

Try this steps.
1) Open your C:\program files \Amazing Charts folder in explorer
2) find the amazingcharts.exe and right click and "run as administrator"

If this works, then again right click and "send to desktop". It will put a shortcut on the desktop. Delete the previous AC shortcut.
