Re-mapping to the shared folder on the desktop is what I have to do every time the laptop re-boots.
It is very important in this troubleshooting exercise, whether I can help or not, to know the following. When you say "re-map" are you referring to getting the window which asks you to browse to the desktop with the shared database or are you referring to mapping a network drive?
And, you laptop is using a wired connection?
