DNS Preferred 10 will not even function when an AC window is open. In version 10, Nuance disabled the option to use anything except DNS Medical when dictating into an EMR.
Nevertheless, since I moved from DNS 9.5 Preferred to DNS 10 Medical a few months ago, I have been very pleased with the increase in speed and accuracy, especially with the medical vocabulary. The $900 price tag for the "Small Practice" medical version was painful, but considering my increased efficiency, together with improvements in AC version 4, I consider it worthwhile.
Once you pay for the software, there are no further ongoing charges (until version 11!)
John,
I wanted to let you know there will be a free update to Dragon Medical
10.1 around the middle of May. The meat of the udate is 64 bit compatibility but there will be some other very cool features added in as well.
