Tom, are there ongoing charges with DNS ver10 Medical? Is it a one time purchase or is there a license to use it embedded in AC? I watched Brian Cotner demonstrate DNS at our first users conference and I have always wanted to try it again. I have often wondered if I really need the medical version since I mostly expect to use it for documenting HPI and I could simply type in the few, true medical terms that might come up.
Martin,
There are no ongoing charges for Dragon Medical 10 other than lengthy tech support, command writing etc. Most docs find the combination of our training manual and a good forum such as this one or my own NaturallySpeaking forum to be adequate.
Brian Cotner was an avid user of Dragon Medical and had quite a few posts on the topic in relation to Amazing Charts on both of the above mentioned forums under bcmd. The last time I corresponded with him he was having great success.
Unfortunately you will need Dragon Medical 10 for your purposes. However, I can offer a piece of advice and a possible workaround. On the advice end you can get yourself a copy of DNS Pro 9.5, upgrade to Medical 10 and then dump the Pro 9.5 on Ebay recouping some of your upgrade cost. A workaround would be to simply use Pro 9.5 coupled with our Version 10 specialty medical vocabs. One way or the other you can accomplish what you want and save lot
$ of money. If you have any more questions post them here on the forum and I’ll prvide the answers.
