Greetings, this in my first post in this forum.

I would like to implement the printing of a "receipt",so to speak,to hand out to the patient's documenting the date and time of their follow up visit. Can this be implemented presently, if not please take note and add the wish list.

You could try the following, although given the formatting and where things end up, it may be less than ideal.

I tried making a quick template in the plan sections called F/U. It just said, "You have a follow-up appointment on the following date and time:" Chose ALT and right click and made the template.

So, you could just choose that template every time, add the date and time, do your other plans, and then choose print the plan. Now, your patient will not only have their plan, i.e. meds, labs, etc., they will have a small blurb about their appointment date and time.

Just a thought.

I agree with sol

It's my front office staff that make the patient's next appointment after pulling up my completed note. They should be able to make an appt and have an option to make a printed slip with patient's name and location of appt for clinics with more than one point of service. Currently they write this on a paper slip.

I addressed this same thing earlier in the subject "Finalizing the note". There is a major problem however in that forwarded notes, when reopened, can be closed (and therefore lost) before signing. I have spoken with tech support and they are looking into this.

I know I keep repeating this, but I am not sure what post you are reading.

Would it work for you if before you send the note to your front desk, if you hit CTRL - S. It will be in your Inbox instantly. Then open it and send it, and you will have a backup copy.

When we used Medisoft, you could enter the next appointment and then print it, but kind of like our prescriptions, it would print on an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper. But, like our scripts and labs, etc. it was nice to know the patient had the EXACT replica of what we had. How many of us at least once monthly have a patient show up with a card that says that exact time slot, but we don't have him or her down. You have to honor their appt card.

True. Except it is much better to not lose a note which you have written five minutes worth of data on. If they close it, at least they have only lost the two appointment times they wrote on it. smile

I tried that. The problem is that, then, when the front office staff tried to open the note that was forwarded to them (which I had also forwarded to myself) they get a pop-up saying the note is in someone else's mailbox and, if opened, they may lose any new data....and they did. The note they opened was not the updated one that, fortunately was in my mailbox. So.......not a solution.

Occasionally, when I use AC, I get that message. I usually just blast through it.

I did try the method I am advocating about 25 times using Virtual Machine. That made it much easier. I got that message once. I did lose the note that way, so I will say no next time.

I tried two ways. One was to use CTRL - S to send my note with lots and lots of information on it to my inbox. When I selected it, I chose No, so it would stay there. I then forwarded it to my front staff (in VM). They sent it back with the MR time. After I made another note based on that, I had the option of a CTRL - S or just forwarding it back. I think if you used this method, forwarding it back would work. It would save time. Sure you could lose the data they put in, but again, you would save all of your information. Of course, they would have the option of doing the same thing. Sure, that wold mean there would be multiple backups, but everyone could delete them once the note was signed off.

For me, the only way to see if a method is going to work is to try it for at least one day.
