Medicare Fee Schedule is on the Floor Right Now as we speak. I just googled the senate and called my four favorite senators. Stop whatever you or your staff are doing and make some calls right now.

I also spoke to having a dual fee schedule that finally respects PCP and office visits so primarys can slow down, take good care of folks and be properly paid and respected for what they do... Senator Sanders office I-VT who I used to vote for when I could their office seemed especially receptive to all this. I called Leahy, on Schumer and Clinton being my present and Old senators...

Do it now folks, right now!!!!

I just spoke to my senator's office and the "cloture" vote just passed - so hopefully the full vote to repeal the cutback will be done early next week. Keep calling your senators - not out of the woods yet.

I was just watching CNN and the word is the Senator Ted came on in to cast his vote, he got a standing "O", and the senate passed the thing with a veto proof majority!!! Amazing, sometimes these bozos can almost get it right...

They still can't pay a PCP worth a darn for their hard work although we really need to include the AMA and their RUC for much of this seeing that the RUC was formed so as to "assist" and lobby congress to inform them of how to properly value these things. But at least we all don't have to start dismissing Medicare patients quite yet, soon but not quite yet. I'm still not sure we are going to accept any new ones though. Gee a whole 1.5% increase.. They really seem to love that amount 1.5% for increase. Like with their P4P too...

we still need major fee reform for office visit based specialties like primary care, endo and the like.

Hello All, I was just over at another thread updating some information on the tablet PCs and saw this post. If anyone is interested, I have a blog that has all kinds of medical information daily posts and lots of resources on the site in the right hand column. I covered this story pretty well over there with some videos embedded too.

At any rate, I'm not trying to necessarily advertise as such, but just thought I would make quick mention in case anyone is interested. I see a couple folks from here occasionally.

Just recently I have been added on Reuters and some spots too on Fox News, so I guess I'm doing something in the right direction:)

There's also a Speed Reader which incorporates a few other blogs and New England Journal of Medicine, just the last 20 updates and it's in a nice flash widget. The links on the previews will take you right to the sites. You can find it on the right hand side and save as a favorite it that is easier.

Again, not trying to advertise, but thought the site might have some use and there's also a nice Science Roll medical look up that will bring in clinical trial information, etc. there on the main site too. I tried to create something of use if you will:)

Beware the 1.5%. When we reviewed our medicare reimbursements earlier this year we were amazed to discover we had a 1.5% DECREASE in the reimbursements for the standard office visit E&M codes. This was true for almost the entire western region except for certain parts of Southern California. I guess the cost of living only went up in So. Cal. (I was also amazed to discover no one publicized this in the medical press. When we called our state medical association, they acknowledged that one "slipped by"!) mad

Yeah right. And if it did then shame on them. What BullCCHIT. If these kinds of basics "slip by them" then perhaps they shouldn't be your paid representatives anymore now should they?

The lady who runs Nancy's IPA, PO here certainly was on top of all this and has taught all her pracice managers to be aware of such garbage. Here in NYS, in upstate central NY, the same time the Gov. finally let the artifical cap off of malpractices rates was the same time we got a small lose of our fees like that too. Want to know the balliest part of all this??? It was mostly from the part that was supposed to be used to calculate the cost of malpractice! I CCHIT you not. Ya just can't make this kind of CCHIT up.

I'm just waiting to see our 1.5% increase be turned into another nip and tuck decrease. But we saved the fee schedule for the specialists on the RUC again now didn't we.... BullCCHIT!
