Hello All,

How can I instruct my staff to print off orders for labs that I ordered during the patient visit but forgot to print off after I closed out the session?

I just right click on the patient's name, select patient orders and write out the labs needed and print the order out. That generates an e-mail that I save to the patient's chart for documentation.
It is not directly linked with the office visit however, but is documented in the chart.
I am not sure if staff can print out the orders separately?

Exactly Greg. And staff can print out the orders as well, it will come out with the providers name, not theirs. Only catch is the orders will have every one of the patient's ICD9 codes on the order sheet. If the sheet stays in house, no big deal, but if the sheet is going out of the office (Say an order for a MMG or an x-ray), you should make sure everyone knows to only include the codes needed for the test. For example, the patient going for a MMG may not want everyone seeing her order sheet to know that she carries the dx code for high risk sexual behavior as well as screening for malig of the breast.

Also, my staff was worried at first that if they deleted a dx code from the order form that it would delete it from their chart, but that doesn't happen.
