Received a notice from AC about microsoft ending support for SQL server 16. Upgrading to version 12.4 should be done before july. Has anyone does this by themselves or does it have to be with support help?

Have not done it yet, but should be able to upgrade DIY. My last upgrade was needed by support due to SQL 32bit to 64bit. Now all practices on v12 and above should be on SQL 2016 which is only 64bit. The installer for v12.4 will have a newer SQL express version. Just follow the self upgrade directions on the client portal site where you get the installer and tuner. I plan on upgrading soon. I run AC in a virtual machine which makes rolling back if something goes wrong very easy.

Did the 12.4 update this past weekend. Is typical straight forward install. New SQL Server 2022 express installed. So far no problems.

Did the upgrade this weekend. Installing main computer went without a hitch. After installing the main program, I tried to do the database tuner and after a minute received a message that the tuner encountered a problem. This happened when it was supposed to be making a backup. Message states that I could click to continue and ignore the message or cancel. I clicked to ignore, but the server remained frozen for 30 minutes. I decided to reboot the server and the turner installed without a problem. Therefore I would recommend to reboot the server before running the tuner.
