I have another huge addition. This is one of those that can make a big difference in patient care. Especially pediatrics. This is why it would need an option.
It has to do with growth charts. When a patient comes in for a well child care at 2 months, 4 months, 9 months, two-years-old, four-years-old, etc., we always check the growth chart. Generally with that amount of time, we will catch someone who is crossing major percentiles. But the problem is we don't check the growth charts when they come in for sick visits like ear infections or conjunctivitis. So, say you have a patient who skips a year from 3 years old to 5 years old or longer, because you haven't been watching the growth charts on sick visits, they go from 90% percentile to 25% and suddenly you are worried about growth delay.
For me, it would be great if the growth chart came up anytime a chart was opened. I don't know, maybe this would get in the way too often. I guess if you could open height and weight and have a way to close the entire growth chart with one click, it would work well. Other EMRs show the growth charts on the first page when going to a patient's chart.
Would love to hear from other pediatricians.

Bert... I understand, but please make it a user option to always open the growth chart.... my patients are all 130% or more on weight so we don't use the charts.
