If I got this one request, I would take an oath to not recommend anything to AC or complain about AC for one full year.
This is the one thing that has bothered me since AC was first developed. It has never changed and is so poorly formatted and written, it is nearly impossible to make sense of it. One can hardly decipher who was to do what and who was as fault, etc.
The messages section of Amazing Charts needs a complete overhaul. It needs to be in the format of WhatsApp, Telegram, SnapChart, Signal, Skype or the example of I will show here. And unless I am missing an option it needs to read from latest to newest. It can be much simpler to read and follow. We could still have the subject line with the date.
Instead of starting the message with: PATIENT, TEST (DOB 09/09/2009) #3441, 4 year and 3 month old girl last seen.....(7/27/2008) by Bert Adams, MD Next appt None scheduled -- this is already on the bottom left, start with
PATIENT, TEST (dob 3/15/2009) on January 31 2024 RE: PATIENT TRANSFER
Then in the message box:
Bert 11:19 am January 31, 2024 Hi John. Need to transfer patient to Dr. Small. Wondering what you think
John 11:37 Agreed
Bert 12;52 pm I will give Dr. Small a call
John 3:45 pm: Perfect
Signed by Bert 3:55 pm on January 31, 2024

You would only need the date on the first message as the latest messages would be the same date unless the conversation continued to the next day. It could be in the above format or the format that my doctor's messages go. I like the idea of the OP''s messages always being on the right. Because most messages would be to one person and, therefore, mine would be on the right and the person I sent to would be on the left.
This is also much better from a medicolegal perspective. It is very clear as to who said what and when.
Here is an example from the portal of my doctor's office. See attachment:
Yup. A complete overhaul. Don't look at what we have and try to fix it... that's is a waste of time. Take a look at any good messaging program out there and modify that one.
As usual, a great comment by Jon. Exactly. Start from scratch. A whole redo. Look at other social media messengers. Look at other EMRs messages system.
Willl do. I already like what I have written. Small tweaks such as a space between the name of the poster and time and message. Do you ever have any staff demo other EMRs. I can take screenshots of the portal I use, but it would be hard to get screenshots of other EMRs unless you were playing with it.
Actually, my number one request is regarding "imported items": I carefully curate my reports in imported items. For me, this serves as an extension of my "problem list" and medical history. I would love to be able to "print" a summary of my imported items exactly in the format as I see them in AC, by category. (Unless I am missing something, currently, they print in chronologic order only. The only way to see them by category is to take a screen shot.) Respectfully, ACZ
