Just installed new version 11.4.3 for e-prescribing. When I want to print a paper prescription instead, winter storm knocked out Internet, I fing I have no way to routinely enter NPI/DEA/License number on the printed prescription. This used to be routine, now I can't find any to enter it at all. Any suggestions, I feel like I am missing something.

Greetings.

Those options were moved to the Admin Options section of Amazing Charts.

In the admin screen, click the option for "Set Prescription Format". The options to add NPI/DEA/License are there now

You can set these in the admin as Mark stated or I put them in the note to the pharmacist line.

A related question. In Version 14.2, the prescriptions do not print on the default Windows printer but AC opens the option to save the file as PDF. Work around includes opening print preview and then printing the prescription on desired printer (takes extra steps and time). Does anyone know the fix?

Currently, I am Beta Testing Version 11.5 and this is this still a problem at times. It is a known bug with AC support.

I have had some success with resetting the printer. Go to Administrator Options, log in, Set Prescription Format, 3rd block down is Select script printer, change this drop down box to your printer and the Save Prescription Preferences.

I say it is still a problem at times and I have had some success because when we set up 11.5 tech helped me fix it but then it reverted. I just went through the process to reset again today and it held and both a desktop and my laptop saved the setting and let me print a prescription without first previewing. I will see if it holds overnight.

Just checking to see if you had a chance to try the process I laid out. I just tried mine again this morning and it did hold the printer and is working properly.

Thank you very much for the helpful post. I already had taken those steps. Now AC restricts us to use only one printer for all the prescriptions. The printer has be selected in the admin options and should be installed (? as default) on the main server. It does not seem to work in any other way. It is just a small hassle to walk to the designated printer every time a prescription has to be printed.

Thanks for the reply. Did the process I described at least get rid of the default to PDF problem? I know AC tech has seen and been told about the printer PDF issue.

Were you able to set a different printer before going to 11.4.3? If so how?

Maybe if it could be a user preference to set different printers instead of an admin all practice solution?

I know there are laws in different states about printers and special papers etc for prescriptions so maybe this played into how AC set up this part of prescribing.

Prior to installing V11.4.3, the prescription printed on the default printer for the windows PC. I never messed with the prescription setting sin admin options as it was not necessary.
Now, the default prescription printer on the server has to be installed on all the PCs that you work on. I also see that AC now runs a print service with the program. It is not working as intended at this time.

Thanks for the update. I am sure tech can look at the idea of being able to pick a different printer than the server with future upgrades.

I hope someone that is web based can chime in on how the printers are set up for each of the workstations. Is it just one printer or does each workstation get to choose a printer?

Can you clarify what you mean by Ac is running print service and it is not working properly?

Now when I look at the services running on my PC, there is a print service running with Amazingcharts. It also appears that all the PCs need to be configured to print prescriptions to a central printer.
