Dr. Jon Bertman has been asked by Amazing Charts to consult for AC. This is fabulous news and I, for one, am thrilled by this. I hope we can all welcome him back.

Thanks for the comments. This is the way I look at it. It isn't just that having him consult will be helpful. It shows that the Harris Company is really committed to Amazing Charts.
And, Jon is the myth, the man, the legend who, as some may not know, wrote the program ALL WHILE STILL WORKING AS A FAMILY PRACTITIONER. One could always call Amazing Charts and speak directly to him. We would have annual conferences and he would be there and get everyone excited abouit the path that AC was going, always listening to our thoughts and ideas.
To have him back working with Amazing Charts in any capacity is the best thing that has happened to AC in a long time. I won't mention any other names because I don't have permission and the names wouldn't mean anything but a few others were asked to come back. People who were devoted to the vision of Amazing Charts.
OK. I will stop now.

Bertman: Is that "James" character still here? Is he still spelunking around in my database?
James: ~~slowly shrinks away into the background~~

I am glad to hear they are asking for his input! Will be interesting to see what he can bring back to the group. I was always amazed he stayed active with the forum, at least with financial support.
I remember the AC Conference in Rhode Island in 2011, what a great time. Scheduled in June not October when we are usually the busiest! The round tables on the last day for brainstorming and complaining were very helpful for both the providers as well as the programmers.
James, we won't let him run you out of town.....we value your input as well! You've helped many on here and it is appreciated.

Yes, this is nothing but good news! Welcome back, Jon. We missed you.
As Bert says... this is also a good thing because it says a great deal about Harris' intentions by bringing him on. Now lets hope Harris leadership listens to what he tells them!
Yes, those ACUC's were great! The good old days...

Hello all! Thank you for warm welcome! I’m excited to be back and am looking forward to working closely with those interested in determining how best to make Amazing Charts the most useful tool possible!
As always "the most useful tool" means different things to different people. So figuring out how best to figure it out seems like a good place to start. I’m currently striving to catch up on all the things that are different (and those that remain the same) since my un-intended departure in 2013 (a story for another time).
Looking forward to (re)connecting!
Much love, Jon

Yes, as usual, you hit the nail on the head, Jon... "the most useful tool" means different things to different people. So figuring out how best to figure it out seems like a good place to start". Great avatar.. I remember that day. Do I recall correctly you said "raise your hand if you have a suggestion on how to improve Amazing Charts". Or maybe that wasn't it.

Wait! I thought my way of using AC and the work flow was the right and only way to use AC. Very sad.
Of course, this would explain a lot of things.

Was that PriMed East really 10 years ago? I occasionally tell a yarn about me busting you about the database merging function being useless while the PriMed Brass was hanging out at the AC Booth. Anyhow good to see you back ....now about that database thing...perhaps if you could influence Harris to allow us to move database to another computer/server without the necessary act of congress and $500 tech/transfer fee I'd be happier.

OOOhhhhh, the days of the database transfer, I remember seeing this feature and thought cool, will use that tonight, loaded the database on a laptop, went home and worked while my partner, at the time, stayed at the office and worked. When I synced up the next morning all her work was lost! Took us several times of this happening before we realized what was happening! That was the end of using database transfer.
