This year Blue Host who hosts the board raised their price from $375 to $425. I try to at least get donations which covers the board and gets Ruben $350 for his work. Just as an FYI, the way it is set up, you can only give one amount, which I prefer because I don't want one person going crazy. In the past:

$25.00 lost money
$50.00 barely broke even

So, this year, I am trying to determine between $75.00 and $100. We generally get about 12 donors so that would be $900 for the 75.00 donation and $1200.00 for the $100.00 donation. I am always grateful for those who donate but confused as to how few donate.

So, the choices would be $75.00 vs $100. I go for the 75 as it gives $400 for the hosting and $500 for Ruben.

This starts in July.

Let me know.

Finally, this board is not provided by AC, it is completely hosted and funded by me and Ruben does all the support and behind the scenes work.

Is there a way to set it up as a minimum with a maximum of $100 range? This would give people the variety and the people that usually give would probably still give a little more. I think I get more than $8.33 per month of entertainment/information off the site but maybe my version of entertainment is limited.

Simple answer: No.

You have to choose one amount.

I am leaning toward $75.00.

I'm leaning 75, also.

There will be a place usually on the top right of the board which you will see easily. Thanks.

My goal is $900 which is 12 tips. This pays for:

Hosting and domain name: $400 annually (next year I think Ruben is moving the board to a better and cheaper host)
A small tip to Ruben of $500. Ruben is the system administrator who manages and maintains the board, does all of the board upgrades in the background for new features and security, handles user account creation, access control and troubleshoots all technical issues. Basically, he is the one you don't see who maintains the smooth operation of the system. Without Ruben, this board would have never existed.

I don't pay myself anything, because I enjoy doing it and love the community we have on here.

Currently as of July 14, 2023, we have 6 donors including JamesNT and Sandeep.

Even if we received no donations, I would still keep the forum up and my guess is Ruben would simply volunteer his time.

Can the count and goal be put on the ticker above to the donate button? Gamify and we'll hit the targets faster...
